The Garlic is Planted!!!

Whew! After a month of hard, HARD work, we can happily say that 64,000 cloves of garlic are planted and ready for winter! Not a day too soon either! We had our first big snowstorm of the year last night, and got over a foot of snow! We may or may not have been out past dark planting the last row with our headlamps on....

It was quite the process, getting the garlic field ready and planted in such a short time frame, but in the end, it all worked out. We added a lot of compost, aged manure, and other organic material to the soil to get nutrient levels to where we wanted. Finding the right farm equipment has been a bit of a challenge, so we had to improvise here and there.
