Colorado garlic farm offering naturally grown garlic seed for sale.
Crooked Clove Farm & Ranch is a family owned farm specializing in garlic grown naturally and free of any chemicals. The farm is located at an elevation of 6,500 feet in the foothills of Larkspur, CO. We grow heirloom softneck and hardneck garlic bulbs, and over 30 varieties were planted this year on the farm! If you are looking for garlic seed for planting or eating, we've got you covered! We offer our garlic for sale online and can ship nationwide. Some of our favorite varieties grown on the garlic farm are Chesnok Red, Turkish Red, Purple Glazer, French Red, Korean Red, Bogatyr, Spanish Roja, Music, Armenian, and Carpathian. We love our community and are excited to announce our farm stand opening summer of 2016.

Garlic orders have started for 2016, and will ship August-September.
We sell both seed stock garlic bulbs and culinary/table stock garlic bulbs depending on your needs. You will find great variety packs for the gardener and chef as well. We also sell our garlic powder year round and garlic scapes in June.
Thank you for taking the time to visit Crooked Clove Garlic Farm!
We take great pride in our naturally grown garlic bulbs and seed garlic and hope you find interesting garlic varieties for your garlic planting needs! When you buy garlic for planting, consider a few different strains of garlic as not all types of garlic prefer the same climates and soils. Keep in mind that both culinary garlic and seed garlic can be planted, however, seed garlic is simply larger in size; larger garlic bulbs mean larger garlic cloves which in turn grow into larger garlic plants! For that reason, we sell the smaller garlic bulbs as “culinary garlic” which is great for those who love gourmet garlic over the often bland, store bought garlic cultivars but you can still use the largest garlic cloves on each bulb as planting garlic if you wish! If you’re primarily looking for the best yields in your garden, then stick with seed garlic and eat the small cloves that are left over!

At Crooked Clove Garlic Farm we grow our garlic the old-fashioned way; No chemicals added. Ever. We are currently navigating the application process to be a Certified Naturally Grown producer. It’s our belief that you are what you eat and for that reason we go to great lengths to foster the soil in which our garlic is grown. Through heavy mulching and hard work we keep weeds down and moisture in. Eventually this mulch is incorporated back into the soil, boosting its organic content and improving its texture and ability to hold water. We plant cover crops to fix nitrogen and till minimally to further build up the soil. We naturally suppress the likelihood of disease through crop rotation and clever use of other beneficial plant species when planting cover crops. All this to ensure that our naturally grown garlic is both safe for you and your family, but also to grow better garlic with every passing year. If we wouldn’t feed it to our kids, we wouldn’t sell it to you, and we love our kids! Our garlic is full of antioxidants and rich in Allicin, a compound found in garlic with many known health benefits, including lowering cholesterol, boosting the immune system and helping prevent heart disease. Not only is our garlic delicious, it is truly good for you!

Don’t believe buying specialty garlic and heirloom garlic varieties differs from the garlic you buy in the store? When you buy garlic from a small farm like ourselves you will be surprised by how much better your garlic based dishes will taste! We encourage everybody to buy some store bought garlic and make a couple of simple cream cheese garlic dips to compare the difference against our garlic bulbs. After eating the dips made with many of the varieties sold on our site you’ll likely not taste the store bought garlic once you come back for a second dip; we couldn’t! The flavors are intense and the spicy varieties can get quite hot! In addition, we recommend buying a high quality garlic press (stainless) that will stand up to the corrosive strength of hand grown garlic varieties. We’ve found that cheaper garlic presses simply don’t hold up over time unless you stick with mild store bought garlic!

And finally, remember that when you buy garlic from a small garlic producer you’re keeping your dollars at home here in the US. Much of the culinary garlic sold this day and age can come from places like China, India, and Chile, especially that which is dehydrated and turned into garlic powder. Even when it’s US grown it was probably produced with a lot of the synthetics you probably shouldn’t be feeding yourself, let alone your kids. Ever wonder how they supply us with garlic year round? A large part of the answer to that problem is a mix of massive freezers and offshoring. Our garlic farm is veteran owned and certified by the Homegrown by Hero’s program. Need more feel-good? 10% of all revenues generated from this site in 2016 will go to charities such as WorldVision.org and SamaritansPurse.org
